What is UUE File Extension?

UUE stands for Unix to Unix Encoding. The files with .uue file extension are used widely to hold uuencoded Unix files. The Unix program like uuencode is used to convert applications' binary files into a text format. UUE file format is commonly used to send documents via emails or other electronic means and it prevents documents from getting corrupted during the file transfer.

The easiest way to open UUE file is just to double click on it and Windows will automatically open the file with associated platform. However, before opening UUE file, it must be decoded, or it can be damaged.
